George Washington Towns collection, 1972.

The collection consists of one scrapbook of information on George Washington Towns from the collection of William H. Davidson. The book includes photocopies of various newspaper articles, letters of correspondence gathering information on Towns, a typed biography of Towns by Mr. Davidson dated March 29, 1968, and articles photocopied from books. Date on "title page" of scrapbook is 1972. The scrapbook also includes a four-page photocopy from microfilm of the Federal Union newspaper of Milledgeville, Georgia, July 6, 1847, laid in. The article is about the Whig and Democratic conventions, votes in Congress and campaigns and the campaign of G. W. Towns for Governor.
